Japan Blue Denim
Established in 2010 by the COLLECT mill in Kojima, Okayama, Japan Blue Jeans began as an in-house project of the Japan Blue Group, with Hiroki Kishimoto credited as its founder. The brand builds on the group’s own fabric development, holding that making jeans is making fabric, and its garments are cut, sewn, and finished in Kojima. Its selvedge denim is woven on vintage shuttle looms, often with rope dyeing and slub textures. The label launched with a single 14.8 oz. U.S. cotton selvedge fabric and now spans a wide range of weights and weaves.
