Kojima Genes is the jeans brand of HOOK Co., Ltd., a company established in Kojima, Kurashiki City, Okayama, in 1996, which launched the line in 2009. The name plays on “genes,” reflecting the aim of passing Kojima’s textile skills to the future. Production is handled in-house from fabric making through sewing, washing, and finishing, with Japanese denim developed with Kuroki and heavy fabrics sewn on adapted vintage machines. The brand is known for rope-dyed, heavyweight denim from 13oz to 23oz and a lifetime repair guarantee.
