Lawford Denim

Lawford was founded in 2020 by designer Kazu Takeshige, who began his career at the Japanese brand Black Sign. The label blends Japanese craftsmanship with British and Americana influences, drawing on Takeshige’s love of motorcycles, and produces in small batches with Japanese mills. It runs its own store in Ebisu, Tokyo, and makes work jackets, chambray shirts, trousers, and caps alongside its denim. Its Lot.203 and Lot.243 jeans are made in Japan from 13.5oz selvedge denim of Zimbabwe cotton, and the Lot.243 takes its buckle-back and oversized pockets from American workwear of the 1930s and ’40s.
