MotivMFG Denim

MotivMFG is headed by Samuel Wei, founder of Radiance Blue, and Daniel Gu, a third-generation tailor and designer. The brand designs and produces its garments in Beijing, combining vintage tailoring drawn from antique European manuals with classic workwear production techniques. Ongoing research into garment-making methods from around the world informs its designs, with the stated goal of making “recreations.” Its pleated denim trousers use custom selvedge fabrics developed with narrow-loom weavers in China, including a sulfur-dyed herringbone woven on a 1950s dobby loom.
