Stevenson Overall Co. Denim

Stevenson Overall Co. takes its name from a workwear company founded in 1920 in Portland, Indiana, which did not survive the Great Depression. Zip Stevenson and Atsusuke Tagaya relaunched the brand in 2005 after Zip found an old company invoice, using a pair of original 1920s overalls found in Tokyo as their reference. It makes its materials and constructs its garments in Japan, using selvedge denim from Kuroki Mills and Nihon Menpu. The jeans are known for shallow scalloped back pockets, a detail repeated on the belt loops and coin pocket, along with flat-felled seams.
