visvim Denim

Founded in 2000 by Hiroki Nakamura, the Tokyo-based visvim began primarily as a footwear brand before expanding into a full apparel line by the mid-2000s. Its clothing draws on vintage workwear, folk craftsmanship, and centuries-old dyeing techniques, combining traditional production methods with modern technology. The brand works with natural dyes such as indigo and mud dye, treating their variation as part of each garment’s character. Its denim line, Social Sculpture, was developed from the yarn up and includes raw, unwashed jeans made in Japan.
