About FDMTL
Founded in Tokyo in 2005 by Gaku Tsuyoshi, FDMTL began when its founder set out to make the jeans he could not find elsewhere. All FDMTL clothing is made in Japan, with its indigo-dyed pieces crafted in Okayama. Tsuyoshi’s signature is piecing fabric fragments together in the boro tradition, patchwork that has been common in Japan since the Edo period. The brand combines sashiko and boro techniques with contemporary cuts.
