About RRL

Ralph Lauren introduced RRL in 1993 as a stand-alone label, naming it after his Colorado ranch, Double RL, a name drawn from his own first name and that of his wife, Ricky. The line draws on late 19th- and early 20th-century American clothing, including mining-town denim, Western wear, workwear, and military uniforms, informed by a large archive of vintage garments. Its denim features selvedge construction, historically accurate hardware, and washes made to mimic the natural wear of early 20th-century pieces.
