About Shockoe Atelier

Founded in 2012 by Anthony Lupesco in Richmond, Virginia, Shockoe Atelier began as a father-and-son business with his father, Pierre, who brought more than 40 years of experience in the textile trade. The brand takes its name from the city’s historic Shockoe area and now operates from 1623 West Broad Street, where its factory and storefront share one space. A small in-house team makes each pair of jeans by hand, often in selvedge denim from Japanese mills, and the brand offers free repairs for rips, tears, and blowouts.
